High Bridge Presbyterian Church combined the two adult Sunday school classes (for month of May only) into a new adult Sunday school class The pastor’s wife, the Rev. Dr. Amy Willis, will teach one more Sunday and there will be a break in Sunday school class for the new summer hours as Sunday service begins at 10 a.m. on June 1 and ends at 11 a.m. throughout the summer.
On Thursday, May 29, Small Group Bible study led by Joe Hawes will meet at the fellowship hall at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served afterward, and everyone is invited to attend.
Correction to last week’s column: the grandson visiting Johnny and Peggy Powell should have been Wyatt Joshua, not Wayne Wyatt.
Also, beginning June 1, the Presbyterian Women’s will be sponsoring a special birthday cake offering. The cake garnering the highest number of donations will determine the winning baker in the contest.
Lloyd and Esther Pennington spent the weekend visiting son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Annie Pennington. While there, they attended grandson Max Pennington’s graduation from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Max received a bachelor of science degree specializing in cybersecurity.

Our church is preparing for its 255th anniversary celebration at the end of September.
The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting boxed mac and cheese for the food pantry for May.
