ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that public hearings will be held by the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at or after 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following applications:
1. Abigail C. Logan, 262 Tinkerville Road, Glasgow, Virginia 24555 has made an application for a zoning map amendment. The properties (above address) are owned by Abigail C. Logan and are located on the south side of Tinkerville Road (Rte. 684), approximately 0.52 miles east of the intersection of S Lee Highway (Rte. 11) and Tinkerville Road. The properties are further identified as tax map numbers 96-A23A (16.98 ac.) and 96-A-23B (0.87 ac.). The properties are currently in the General Business (B-1) Zoning District. The application is to rezone the properties to the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. The properties are in the Natural Bridge Magisterial District.
2. LGCC/W&L Joint Venture LLC, 141 Country Club Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 has made a Special Exception application for the expansion of the existing Lexington Golf and Country Club (LGCC). The properties are owned by LGCC/W&L Joint Venture LLC (address above) and are located on the north and south sides of New Cameron Drive (Rte. 1030) approximately 0.15 miles west of the intersection of New Cameron Drive and County Club Road (Rte. 789). The properties are further identified as tax map numbers 74-A-48 (2.54 ac.), 74-A-48A (11.494 ac.), 74-A-47 (98 ac.), 74B-3-D (TM# 74B-3-J1 and 74B-A-21 are included with TM# 74B-3-D totaling 19.86 ac.). The properties are located in the Residential General (R-1) Zoning District. The total land area within Rockbridge County is 131.864 acres (per tax records). A portion (21.72 ac. – per city tax records) of the LCGG is in the City of Lexington. The pending application is applicable to the portion of the LGCC within Rockbridge County. Per section 604.03-8 of the Regulations, Country Clubs are a use by special exception in the R-1 Zoning District. The properties are in the Buffalo Magisterial District.
3. Cassandra V. Harding, 405 McClure Boulevard, Fairfield, Virginia, 24435 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit to develop and operate a dog training facility (Private School). The property (above address) is owned by Cassandra V. Harding and is further identified as TM# 39-A-3A. The property is located near the south side of McClure Boulevard (Rte. 724) approximately 0.77 miles east of the intersection of McClure Boulevard and Sterrett Road (Rte. 717). The property is in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-20 of the Regulations, private schools are a use by special exception in the A-2 District. The property is in the Walkers Creek Magisterial District.
