Deborah Potter McCormick, 540-463-7652

To celebrate Mother’s Day and express appreciation for all mothers, the Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s Christian Education committee hosted a “Muffins for Moms” reception on Mother’s Day, May 11, in the fellowship hall. The women attending enjoyed homemade muffins, fresh strawberries and an assortment of breakfast beverages. The celebration included all women who are part of the church family and have been a source of encouragement to the congregation. During the 11 a.m. worship hour, a slideshow of pictures submitted by church members with their mother was presented. Each picture was captioned with a Bible verse selected by the family that they felt best described their mother. The slideshow had a musical accompaniment and was enjoyed by all in attendance. The Presbyterian Women, with help from the children, presented each woman present with a stem of flowers and a packet of flower seeds to plant and enjoy through the summer.
