An appreciation event for Maj. Gen. Cedric Wins, outgoing superintendent of Virginia Military Institute, will be held this Sunday, May 18, at 3 p.m. in First Baptist Church in Lexington.
The event will feature guest speakers and the Resurrecting Praise Community Choir of Clifton Forge. Presentations will be made to honor General and Cassandra Wins for their dedication, service and commitment to the community.
Immediately following the appreciation event, there will be a reception in their honor in the downstairs Walker Wood Fellowship Hall of the church.
General Wins has served as the superintendent of VMI since April 2021. Cassandra Wins is known for her work with Project Horizon.
