All-ages game night will take place on May 23. Come on out to New Monmouth for fun and games.

A flower arranging class will be held on May 24 from 10 a.m. to noon at Dianne Swink’s house. Rachel’s friend Carey will be offering tips and tutorials for arranging fresh flowers.

On May 25 New Monmouth will move to its Sunday summer worship time to 10 a.m.

Vacation Bible school is June 2-5 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The theme is “Daily Bread.” There is a sign-up sheet in the hall for those who would like to help. If you can’t help, but would like to help furnish food, let Hope know by calling (540) 460-1079. Needed items are grapes, apples, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, bananas, celery, cucumbers, carrots, pretzels, chips, popsicles, cookies, hotdogs, meatballs, chicken tenders, biscuits and hotdog rolls.

The next lunch bunch is June 3 at Chick-fil-A at 12:30 p.m.

The Kerrs Creek Ruritan Club met at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church on April 15. Janice Burguieres and Marie Averill from Project Horizon were our quest speakers. Project Horizon was launched in Lexington in 1982 to provide confidential services to survivors of intimate partner violence in the Rockbridge County area. You can call Janice at (540) 4637861 if you want to become a volunteer. Volunteers can interact with shelter residents, answer hotline calls, conduct resident intake and get residents set up in the shelter, provide office support and other things.

The club will be holding a charitable golf tournament on Friday, June 13, at the Lexington Golf & Country Club for the purpose of raising funds for scholarships to local graduating high school seniors and other community projects such as Hunter for the Hungry, Hospice, Boxerwood, Dictionaries to county school third-graders, RATS, FFA, Christmas Basket Program, fire and rescue, Scouting, and Adopt-a-Highway, to name a few. Shotgun start is at 9:30. If you would like to support our efforts, please contact Gary Swink at (540) 460-3196 or Christy Harris at (540) 461-0610.

Scholarship recipients have been chosen and they will be presented on May 15 at Senior Night.

The May 20 meeting will be held at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church at 6:30. Spouses and widows will join us.
