The Greater Rockbridge County Skateboarder Coalition will celebrate its fourth birthday with “The Sound of Art” fundraiser on Saturday, May 17, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Lexington skateboard park. The free all ages get-together will feature bands and band merchandise, artists displaying and selling their creations, skateboard vendors, skateboarding contests, and arcade games. The skateboarding contest will have a $10 entry fee per competition.
Water, beverages and food will be available to purchase, but attendees are welcome to pack a lunch or bring a lawn chair. No alcohol will be allowed.
Volunteers for set-up, teardown, and gate house are needed and sponsors are also being sought for contest and event costs.
