Over 700 people came to Lexington Saturday for the Historic Garden Week tour sponsored by the Blue Ridge Garden Club – and the rain held off until the event was over. Besides touring five historic homes and their gardens, attendees also had the opportunity to meet with Rockbridge Area Master Gardeners for a plant clinic and to learn about composting, and talk with an arborist from Bartlett Tree Experts and receive tree seedlings. ABOVE, Master Gardener Phyllis Fevrier discusses composting in the yard of one of the tour properties on Jefferson Street. BELOW, attendees check out a garden on Lee Avenue.
