It was a beautiful day for the spring vendor event at the Farmers Market this past Saturday. There were about 17 different vendors and lots customers shopping. The Glasgow Fire Department cooked up some delicious burgers and chicken dinners. Hopefully everyone made a little money and had an enjoyable time. Much thanks to those came and supported this event.
Speaking of the firemen, Glasgow was represented in the firemen’s parade at the Winchester Apple Blossom Festival last Friday and they brought home a couple trophies. They went up on Friday, participated in the parade at 5:30, and the awards ceremony afterwards and drove back home. Then they spent the day preparing food for the Spring Vendor Event.
The Farmers Market officially opens this Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. This season the market will be open only on Fridays from noon to 4 p.m., except on the second Friday of each month, the hours will be 2 to 6 p.m. There is no fee for set-up. Calling all bakers, folks with homemade jams and jellies, honey, eggs, etc, also artists and crafters with handmade projects - you are welcome to come be a part of the market family. For more information contact me market manager, at (540) 570-0919. Also check out the Glasgow Farmers Market on Facebook.
Last week there was a water line breakage, and at about 4 a.m. on Monday, something caused a power outage for about five minutes, just long enough to trip digital clocks, cut off computers, and ring door bells. Yes, it’s a little unnerving when your door bell wakes you up in the wee hours of the morning!
Barbara Wright was a recent patient in the hospital and is home doing much better. We wish her continued good health, and we wish a speedy recovery for Norman Claytor Jr. who had surgery last week, and our friend from Natural Bridge and active member of Glasgow Baptist Church, Peggy Dudley, had the misfortune to break an ankle and will be grounded for a few weeks. Pastor Wes Young Jr. from Glasgow Baptist Church injured his right wrist and was wearing a brace on Sunday. Wishing you all, and others I may not know about, a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to those who have lost loved ones recently.
