Victory Baptist Church will be having revival services with evangelists Randy and Mary Perry from Georgia this coming week, May 11-14.
The Sunday morning service will start at 10:30, followed by an evening service at 6. Then the services will continue Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The church is located at the intersection of 36th Street and Lombardy Avenue in Buena Vista.

On April 27, I attended a birthday celebration for my granddaughter, Courtney Terrell. Everyone had a good time and the food was delicious. I also got to see four of my greatgrandchildren, Nolan, Ellie, Addison and Willow. What a treat for me!

Happy Mothers’ Day to all mothers this coming Sunday, May 11! Also, High Bridge Presbyterian Church will celebrate the “noisy can” offering.
High Bridge combined the two adult Sunday school classes (for month of May only) into a new adult Sunday school class with the pastor’s wife, the Rev. Dr. Amy Willis, as a very knowledgeable teacher. She is an ordained minister and a professor at Lynchburg College.
The afternoon circle meets Tuesday, May 13, at 6.
Belated congratulations for their recent 65th anniversary in April to two couples in Stoner Hollow ‒ Wayne Lee and Annette Hickman and also Lloyd and Esther Pennington.
Scholarship Sunday will be observed May 18.
High Bridge is preparing for its 255th anniversary celebration at the end of September.
The food pantry board met April 28 and elected John Pollock president to replace Dave Van Osten who is retiring as president but continues to serve the pantry in many other ways. Members thanked Dave for his years of outstanding service as president. Other officers will remain in their present positions.
The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting boxed mac and cheese for the food pantry for May.
