April 28, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: We are law students studying the legal foundations of the United States of America. Although each of us came to law school for different reasons, we share a common commitment to protecting our democracy.
May 1 is National Law Day, a tradition the legal community has observed since 1958. This year, we invite local lawyers to reaffirm their commitment to the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law by publicly restating the oaths they took when they joined the bar. As law students, this will be our first time observing National Law Day.
The event, co-sponsored by the W&L Law chapter of the American Constitution Society, will take place at Hillel House on April 30 at 5:30 p.m. ALI FAZAL, Member, W&L Law American Constitution Society Executive Board
