The Union View Advent Christian Church recognized and extended appreciation to Jonathan Clark and Kenny and Doreen Horn during the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, April 27. Pastor Nathaniel Rutan commended them on behalf of the congregation for their tireless support of the church over many years. Most recently they were instrumental in the completion of an addition and the installation of an elevator to make the church building more accessible.

The Night Circle of the Collierstown Presbyterian Church will hold its monthly meeting tomorrow, Thursday, May 1, in the fellowship hall at 7. A time of fellowship will begin at 6:30 followed by the Bible study. All are invited to join the group in person or on Facebook Live from the church’s Facebook page at 7.

The Collierstown Presbyterian Church will recognize during the 11 a.m. worship hour on Sunday, May 4, five young people who are members of the class of 2025 who will be graduating high school. They are Josie Caldwell, Eleanor Goodhart, Lucas Goodbar, Morgan Martin and McKenna Chittum. Following the morning worship service, a reception and fellowship time will be held on the church lawn honoring these young people and their families.

The Effinger Volunteer Fire Department has made tentative plans to hold its first barbecue chicken sale of the spring season on Saturday, May 17, beginning at noon. Chicken halves and whole dinners will be available for purchase. Food items may be purchased as carryout but some seating for indoor dining will be available. Be sure to save the date!
