A large truck crashed into the home of Mr. Carl Taylor on Endfield Road. The caption for the picture read: “For more information on how to avoid danger while sitting in the comfort of your own home, see page 4.” -A strict new leash law for dogs in Lexington was adopted unanimously by city council. The law, proposed by city attorney William O. Roberts, required dogs to be kept on a leash or a similar restraining device, when off the owner’s property. - The net value of property in Lexington as of July 1, 1974, was $45,487,863 according to figures released by the city commissioner of revenue.

MeadWestvaco Corp. announced plans to locate a new consolidated distribution center in the Rockbridge Regional Industrial Park in Buena Vista. The inventory management and distribution center would handle the shipment of paper products manufactured at the corporation’s Covington mill.
