Playing away from home during spring break, the Rockbridge County High School girls soccer team split a pair of Valley District games last week, cruising to an 8-0 win over East Rockingham last Monday before falling at Harrisonburg 5-1 last Tuesday.
The Wildcats finished the week at 2-2-0, both overall and in the district.
At ER (1-4-1 overall, 0-3-1 district), the Wildcats got four goals each from Madelyn Jones and Lucy Boller-Pinkham.
Against Harrisonburg (3-1-1, 3-0-1), RC’s lone goal came from Ximena Garcia-Lopez, stepping up from the junior varsity squad to play for the varsity team.
The Wildcats were scheduled to play host to Turner Ashby last night and will continue district action at Rocktown on Friday before playing host to Broadway on Tuesday, starting with JV action at 5:30 p.m. on both nights.
