Lightning Interrupts Soccer

The Rockbridge County High School boys soccer team was trailing Valley District rival East Rockingham 3-2 before the game was stopped by lightning with 1:47 left in the first half on Monday of last week. The game was scheduled to be resumed and completed this past Monday evening.

Oscar Kosky scored for the Wildcats (1-2 overall, 1-1 district) about 10 minutes into the game, and Noah Carroll scored RC’s second goal.

Following the conclusion of the game on Monday, the Wildcats were scheduled to play at Turner Ashby last night and will continue district action at home against Rocktown on Friday before traveling to Broadway on Tuesday. The Wildcats will then play host to nondistrict foe Staunton next Wednesday, April 30. All nights will start with junior varsity action at 5:30 p.m.
