In celebration of Earth Day, today is the official launch of Refill Rockbridge. Local residents can reduce their plastic usage by placing orders online for eco-friendly household and personal care products that come in refillable glass bottles rather than plastic containers that often end up in the landfill. Pick-up is at the Lexington Farmers Market on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon or across the street at 11 S. Jefferson St. from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Refill Rockbridge is a partnership between Rockbridge Conservation and the Staunton Refill/Renew store. Earlier this month, volunteer organizers Melody Tennant, Sarah Wapner and Annette Green (shown here) staged a trial run at the Farmers Market and explained the process to interested shoppers in advance of this week’s launch. To order go to: www.refillrenew.com/s/shop.
