Arts Will Bloom At Artapalooza

Arts Will Bloom At Artapalooza
PMHS Theater students will share some of the highlights of their upcoming production of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” during Artapalooza this Saturday. Pictured are (in front) Gwyneth Larson, (in back, from left) Melanie Carpenter, Ethan Koonce, Nikki Carroll and Jaidynn Simmons. The full play will be performed at the SVU Performing Arts Center, on May 29, 30 and 31.

The creative spirit seems to bloom in spring. Warmer weather, longer days with reliable sunshine also brings Artapalooza to the area. Artists, vendors, and performers are signing up to gather this Saturday, April 26, along Magnolia Avenue in Buena Vista.

The annual downtown street fair, which will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., features local performances in various venues, art vendors selling their art forms, and food purveyors tempting participants with mouth-watering treats. Demonstrations and participatory activities also highlight the event. “Bubbles, slime, paint projects, and a possible flash mob make Artapalooza an event you do not want to miss,” said a spokesperson.

Asunder Coffee Roasters, Straws, Little Beasties, Art on Magnolia, Leaf & Lore, the Buena Vista Farmers’ Market, Coiner Store, Top Quality Builders, Vinyl Cuts, Main Street Buena Vista, and the Buena Vista Public Library have all offered their talents and/or spaces to celebrate this rain or shine day of creative effort.
