Parry McCluer High School senior Olive King signs her national letter of intent to continue her academic and swimming career at Division III school Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista. The signing took place on April 4 at the PM library, where King was joined by family members, friends, teachers, administrators and her high school coach, Erica Bisaillon. While at PM, King won six individual regional championships and qualified for the Class 1 and 2 state meet three times, earning medals by placing in the top six her junior and senior years. At the state meet this winter, King placed second in the 200yard freestyle and third in the 500-yard freestyle. For the last three years, King was the Fighting Blues’ lone swimmer. King also plays tennis for the Fighting Blues and played varsity volleyball for two years. King is the daughter of Jared and Etta King. (Jonathan Schwab photo)
