Renaissance Comedy At W&L

Renaissance Comedy At W&L

Washington and Lee University students in the Medieval and Renaissance studies program will present the “Mandragola,” a Renaissance comedy by Niccolo Machiavelli, this Thursday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Stackhouse Theater in Elrod Commons.

Set in 15th century Florence, the “Mandragola” or the “Mandrake,” is a salacious comedy of lust, love and corruption which parodies and satirically embodies the very ideas that made Machiavelli famous for his seminal work “The Prince.”

It is directed by professor Domnica Radulescu and performed by Nick Alejandro, Carrington Brown, Charlotte Gardner, Charles Grant, Griffin Hall, Lexie Kappelman, Hannah Kowkabany, Drew McCarthy, Kate Mitchell, Riley Monsour, Madox Moss, Julia Napier, Joanna Ramos, Oakley Rempel, Lilly Shoffner, Kidus Tegene, Ryan Woods.
