Bible study at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church will not meet this week but will resume during Holy Week. We will have choir today, Wednesday, and next Wednesday. The choir will sing on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.

This Friday we will have a game night for all ages. Come at 5:30 p.m. and bring a snack to share. Games will start at 6 p.m.

New Monmouth will have a Good Friday service April 18 at 6 p.m.

Easter sunrise service is April 20 on Hotinger Hill at 7 a.m., with breakfast following at the church. The Easter service is at 11 a.m. at church.

Work and painting of the roof on the church, fellowship hall and Sunday school building begins after Easter.

The Kerrs Creek Ruritan Club met March 18. Jenna Dull, director of development from the Blue Ridge Food Bank, was our speaker. The Food Bank started in 1991 and had served 109,000 families before COVID. About 172,000 families are currently being served. About 1 out of 10 families experience food insecurity. RARA is part of this organization. There has been 16.8 million pounds of food distributed in localities ‒ 33% children, 20% seniors and 33% new people. Support donations are provided by Martin’s grocery, Food Lion, Kroger, Walmart, the Postal Service and other organizations. There are many ways to help - volunteer, donate funds, fund drives, or be an advocate and subscribe to website. They also work with Hunters For The Hungry. Ninety-six percent of funds raised go toward food, only 4% goes to administrative needs.

Our Ruritan golf tournament will be on Friday, June 13. For questions, to put together a team or donate, send email to Christy Harris at [email protected].

The Ruritan April meeting will be held at 6:30 on Tuesday, April 15, at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church.
