Cline ‘Shrinks InTheMAGA Corner Of Submission’
March 31, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette In reference to Ben Cline’s 3/26 newsletter, I would like some answers to current issues of national security and why he has stayed silent on the Signal debacle that could have put our military pilots in the crosshairs of the enemy.
It is obvious that this information would, under competent leadership, be considered highly classified. And he knows it. As do his Republican colleagues.
Yet instead of owning up, the lies just keep on pouring out and the media gets scapegoated. Had this happened under a Democratic administration, would they sit idly by and hope that it blew over? Based on history, absolutely not.
I will not sit idly by while he shrinks in the MAGA corner of submission and refuses to speak out on behalf of the people he was elected to represent. His distortion of the truth on so many issues is reprehensible. The list is long and ever-growing. But even worse is the destructive inability of the Republican Party to take responsibility for anything and Congress’ willingness to abdicate all authority to those willing and actively participating in the dismantling of our democratic republic.
The damage being done to Medicaid, Medicare, veterans services, food programs for children and the elderly, Social Security, cancer research, education, not to mention international relations, will be costly beyond measure and will ultimately not save the government any money – only distribute more of the wealth to the top. And they know it.
Cline has fallen lockstep with the Trump propaganda because he knows he has deep backing. We need to hold him accountable when he fails to follow through on providing for his constituents but instead supports authoritarian and oligarchic methods that erode our constitutional rights.
