March 26, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: As you know, we unhappily had to cancel our Jan. 20, 2025, MLK Community Parade on account of the weather. In lieu of that event, CARE has decided to organize another community event called “Love Lives On.” This is an open invitation to all community members, their families, and friends to join us.
We will gather on Friday, April 4, at Richardson’s Park in Lexington to honor a significant day: the anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.
The event will feature CARE representatives, community guests, and musical performances by BJ and DeVon Lark beginning at 5 p.m. Please plan to arrive early to receive an MLK sticker, participate in a thoughtful written reflection, set up your seat, and engage with the community. The program is expected to conclude around 6 p.m.
The back-up location in case of weather disruption is the Randolph Street United Methodist Church.
We look forward to seeing you all there to spread MLK’s love and carry on his dream!
