The musical “Legally Blonde Jr.” will be held at Rockbridge County High School Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7. Tickets are on sale at the door. Several kids we know from church will be providing intermission music and others in the play. Come out to see it and support the hard work of these students.

On Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m., the Rockbridge Historical Society will present a free local history program revisiting the deadly attacks of 1759 and 1763 in western Rockbridge County known as the Kerrs Creek Raids. The program will be held at the New Monmouth Church that’s long anchored the neighboring Kerrs Creek communities. Former RHS President Larry Spurgeon’s slideshow and narrative provide new contexts for their relationship to shifting patterns of local colonial settlement, and the accelerating conflicts between European and indigenous empires, a decade and a half before Lexington and Rockbridge were officially organized in 1778. The program concludes with an overview of the new restoration project at the neighboring McKee Cemetery, where some of those involved in the attacks and counter- attacks were buried, along with many descendants. Pauline McKee, director of the nonprofit dedicated to those efforts, will also lead a tour of the site (now the grounds of Big Spring Farm, one mile away), describing recent explorations with ground penetrating radar, and noting opportunities for community residents to become involved.
