Tetiana Sylina, an awardwinning Ukrainian journalist and editor at a leading Kyiv-based newspaper, will deliver a talk today, Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the Hillel House on the campus of Washington and Lee University.
She will discuss the role of a free press in democracy and the challenges Ukrainian journalists face, including the risks to their lives during Ukraine’s war against Russian aggression.
The talk is sponsored by the Class of ‘63 and East European and Russian Studies.
