Visitors to downtown Lexington probably had trouble believing their eyes when 18 colorfully painted cows took to the streets on Saturday morning. The cows, created by Mark Cline and painted by local artists, will be auctioned off at Maury River Middle School in October to raise money for Blue Ridge CASA for Children, which supports children in foster care in the Rockbridge area. Pictured here are Beax-Vine by Jody Jaffe and Cock-A-Doodle-Moo by Kelli Woodard. (Joann Ware photo)
