Engineering reports on Buena Vista’s wastewater treatment plant and water and sewer collection systems were presented to City Council during a work session on Sept. 29.
The number of new COVID-19 cases in the Rockbridge area fell below 100 for the first time in a month this past week, but two new virus-related deaths were also reported.
A proposal by a logging company to relocate a wood yard from an industrial district to an agricultural one has led to protracted discussions by members of the Rockbridge County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors.
The Collierstown Baptist Church will hold its homecoming celebration and worship service this Sunday, Oct. 10. At 10 a.m. an hour of special music will take place in the church sanctuary, followed by the worship service at 11 a.m. The day’s events will conclude with lunch at the church.
What a weekend, with beautiful weather for it all. The Fall Crafters Event was very successful, with 12 vendors, plus a food vendor. There was a steady flow of customers and a good time was had by all. This wraps up the 2021 season for the Farmers Market. Thanks to all the vendors and community for supporting them throughout the summer.
This past Sunday, Oct. 3, High Bridge Presbyterian Church celebrated World Communion Sunday with guest minister, the Rev. Marina Gopadze, serving as pastor. This Sunday, Oct. 10, Bob Gilbert will be the guest speaker while the Rev. Dr. Amy Fedderman is on vacation.
