Results of Tuesday’s elections were slow to come out last night. A majority of the precincts in which local contested races were being held had not reported results by this newspaper’s deadline at 8:30 p.m. Results will be reported Wednesday morning on the newspaper’s website at www.thenewsgazette.com.
A familiar face is filling Rockbridge County’s newly created position of economic development director. Brandy Flint, business development assistant who has been with the county since 2009, was elevated to this new role last week.
A tiny sliver of Lexington with tremendous historical value is expecting a major facelift this spring. Lexington City Council agreed at its meeting Thursday, Oct. 21, to contribute $10,000 to Main Street Lexington for the renovation of the North Main Street Gateway Triangle Garden.
Louise Roberts Worley, 89, of Natural Bridge and citizen of the Monacan Indian Nation, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 30, 2021. She was born September 30, 1932, to the late George Roberts and Cora Vint Roberts.
