WILLIAM BENNETT JR.

William Samuel Bennett Jr., 76, of Lexington died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery.

Born Jan. 13, 1946, in Buena Vista, he was a son of the late William Samuel Bennett Sr. and Ellen Pultz Bennett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur H. Bennett, and a sister, Estelle Justice.

He was a member of the Light House Church and retired from Hostetter’s Excavating as a heavy equipment operator. William loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving are his sister, Minnie Young (Leslie); wife of 21 years, Jo Ella Bennett; step-daughter, Jimmie; granddaughter, Sadie Jade; special cousin, “Brother” David W. Hailey; many nieces and nephews; two dogs; his special hunting buddy Rocky; and his little sweetheart Ellie.

A graveside service was conducted Friday, Nov. 18, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jay Thorne.

Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
