Virginia Reynolds Wells, 84 of Glasgow, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2020.

Born Aug. 3, 1936, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Kyle Claytor.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Dickie” Wells; grandchildren Phillip Staton Jr. and Nicole Staton; and brothers Curtis Claytor and Jerry Claytor.

She was retired from Burlington Industries and Skyline Manor and was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters Rhonda Rogers (Mark) and Cindy Thomas (Rodney); grandchildren Lindsey Flint (Phillip), Megan Hostetter, and Shana Slagle (Justan); great-grandchildren Isaiah Ezell, Makenzie Camden, Addie Flint, Parker Flint, Paige Slagle, Heston Slagle, and Margot Slagle; sisters Helen Cash, Sandra Emore (Johnny), and Eleanor Snider (Jimmy); brothers Eddie Claytor (Georgette) and Dennis Claytor (Ann); numerous nieces and nephews; special mention of Jay Emore (adopted son) and Brandy Gibson (compassionate caregiver and BFF).

Pallbearers will be Mark Rogers, Rodney Thomas, Phillip Flint, Justan Slagle, Eddie Claytor and Jay Emore; honorary pallbearers are Isaiah Ezell and Parker Flint.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Glasgow Baptist Church with the Rev. William Thomas, Pastor Terry Bostic and the Rev. Larry Ross officiating. Graveside service will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RATS, 712 N. Main St., Lexington, VA 24450.

She was loved by everyone who knew her.
