On Sunday, Sept. 29, the Vesuvius Baptist Church will have an outdoor picnic after the morning worship service to honor Pastor Tyler Clem on his three-year anniversary. The church will be providing the meat and drinks. Please bring a covered dish.

Phyllis Phillips Stine-spring and I traveled to Martinsville on Friday, Sept. 20, to attend the memorial service of Betty Stone, the mother of Phillip Stone. He is the nephew of Phyllis and my second cousin.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Hamilton/Fitzgerald reunion was held at Vesuvius Baptist Church. There were 27 in attendance.

This Saturday, Sept. 28, is Vesuvius Heritage Day. There will be wonderful food and yard sales throughout the community.
