Stream Bank Work Near Park Slated

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources is now at work on a stream bank stabilization project on the north bank of the Maury River across from the Jordans Point Park canoe launch this week. The work began on July 19 and will continue until July 23, depending on river conditions, a press release on the city of Lexington's website said.

The project is expected to address bank erosion issues and improve water quality in the river.

River users will need to portage around and use caution near the work area.
