RC Girls Fall To Broadway in District Quarterfinals

Friday, Feb. 14 – The Rockbridge County High School girls basketball team concluded its season with a 53-46 loss at Broadway in the Valley District quarterfinals on Friday night.

Emily Galford led the fifth-seeded Wildcats (7-15) with 17 points, while Graceon Armstrong had 11 points, 11 rebounds, eight blocks and three assists. Emily Mahood added eight points, five boards and two steals; Aiyana Cooper had seven points, seven rebounds and three steals; and Rachel Hines grabbed five rebounds.

Aliza Lokey led the fourth-seeded Gobblers (7-16) with 15 points, making a clutch 3-pointer in the fourth quarter. Broadway advanced to the district semifinals.

The Wildcats will miss their three seniors: Galford, Armstrong and Phynely Stores.
