JOSEPH HIGGINS JR.

Joseph Herbert Higgins Jr., 79, of Lexington died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at Heritage Hall.

Born July 12, 1943, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Joseph Herbert Higgins Sr. and Leona Conner Higgins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Kenneth Higgins; and two stepdaughters, Carolyn T. Carroll and Brenda G. Tyree.

He was an auto mechanic, repaired small engines for over 50 years and was a woodcutter. Joseph loved bluegrass music and garage pickin’.

Surviving are his children, Jennifer Croushorn (Jason), David Tyree (Jenny), Curtis Tyree (Lorrie), Joey Higgins (Pam), Josephine Hostetter, Sherry Dunlap, and Gay Ramsey (Larry); one sister, Mary Higgins; 10 grandchildren, Jacey Croushorn, Jaylee Croushorn, Spencer Tyree, Christopher Hostetter, Michael Carroll, Shawn Matheny, Josh Matheny, Johnathan Matheny, Autumn Graves, and Colby Graves; six great-grandchildren; nephew, Clifford Higgins; and close friends Brent Hamric, Nathan Spinner, Doug Stevenson, Nelson Kelly, Earl Reid, David Clark, Gus Moore and many others.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jay Thorne.

The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses, Heritage Hall staff, Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital (SJH), and Carilion home health nurse Lexi Snider.

Raymond Moses Harless, 86, of Glasgow died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022.

He was born March 10, 1936, in Virginia, the son of the late Lucy May Harless.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lillian Jane Clark Harless.

A graveside service was conducted Friday, Nov. 18, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
