RARO Teaches Speed And Agility Thirteen youths participated in the the Rockbridge Area Recreation Organization’s opening Speed and Agility Clinic on Monday of last week at the Brewbaker Field Sports Complex and the Rockbridge Aquatics Center. The clinic put the kids through an instructional workout consisting of a dynamic warmup, agility ladders (at far right) and an introduction to plyometric (jumping) drills. After that, RARO Board member Leslie Ayers (center) and her pool staff led the kids through a structured pool workout. BELOW, RARO interim executive director and senior program coordinator Darrell Plogger puts a life preserver on one of the kids. There will be several more speed and agility clinics the next few Mondays from 4-5:15 p.m. for children ages 10-13. Because RARO can only accommodate 20 kids for each session, RARO asks that those who plan on attending or have questions contact Smith in the RARO office at bsmith@rarorec.org or at 463-952 (Stephanie Mikels Blevins photos)
