Wednesday, Feb. 19 – The Parry McCluer High School boys basketball team put forth one of its most dominating performances of the season on Wednesday night, beating Eastern Montgomery 58-24 in the Pioneer District semifinals in Buena Vista.

After losing 44-42 to fourth-seeded EM (13-10) last Friday, the top-seeded Blues (17-5) came out firing on all cylinders and led by a shocking margin of 26-0 after the first period.

By halftime, the Blues matched their total from Friday’s game and led 42-6.

Will Dunlap led the way with 20 points for PM. Spencer Hamilton chipped in 11 and Talen Roberts added 10.

Attempting to repeat as district tournament champions, the Blues will play host to second-seeded Narrows (15-6) in the finals on Friday at 7 p.m., following the 5:30 p.m. third-place girls’ game between PM and Narrows. In Wednesday’s semifinal at Narrows, the Green Wave defeated third-seeded Covington.
