Phillips Earns Eagle Scout Rank

Justin Phillips of Richmond, son of former resident Chip Phillips and grandson of the late Chuck and Marge Phillips, was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout for the Boy Scouts of America. A member of Troop 772, he is a high school junior at Deep Run High School in Richmond and has been involved in scouting for over nine years.

For his Eagle project, Phillips led a project for the Cedarfield Retirement Community located just west of Richmond. He and the troop replaced the decking on an existing structure that overlooks a lake on the property and built a notice board for the community.

Phillips joined scouting in the fourth grade earning numerous awards, activity pins, and the Arrow of Light as a Cub Scout before crossing over to the Boy Scouts.
