Philip MacNeill of Lexington died Sept. 9

 

Philip MacNeill, "The Able Handyman," died at his home in Lexington on Sept. 9, 2022. 

Philip loved living in Virginia and serving the people of Rockbridge County. Philip was a skilled carpenter and took great pride in his work.

Philip was born in Boston, Mass., and grew up in Hanover, Mass. Later he attended Unity College in Maine where he received an associate degree in art. Philip made pottery, did detailed sketches, and oil paintings. As an adult he lived in Bradenton, Fla., and Buena Vista

Philip was the first-born child of Richard MacNeill of Marshfield, Mass., and Jean (Macaulay) MacNeill of North Weymouth.

Philip was predeceased by his brother Wayne.

Philip's sister, LisaJean Westhaver, lives in Eastham, Cape Cod, Mass. Philip has three children: Krystle MacNeill of Pensacola, Fla., Jillian MacNeill Drain of Virginia Beach, and Darren MacNeill of Maryland. He also has a stepson, Allen Hood. Philip has one niece and three nephews.

Philip loved his family and will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
