50 years agoAug. 9, 1972“Meet the Keydets,” a preseason showing of the Virginia Military Institute’s football team, was held at VMI’s Alumni Field. A barbecue dinner was served for 50 cents before the program. -- Movie goers could catch a showing of “Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster” at Hull’s Drive-in.
