Friday, Feb. 21 -- Second-seeded Narrows upended top seed Parry McCluer High School 50-46 in the Pioneer District boys basketball championship game in Buena Vista.

Matthew Morgan tallied 13 points to lead the way for the Green Wave (16-6). Will Dunlap posted game-highs of 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Fighting Blues (17-6), while Spencer Hamilton totaled 17 points, nine rebounds and five blocks.

Narrows took a 48-39 lead on Dalton Bradley's low-post bucket with 5:45 to play. PM then held the Green Wave scoreless for over 5:30 of game time, and Dunlap scored seven straight points during that stretch as the Blues trimmed the deficit down to 48-46.

PM had the ball down by two inside the final 40 seconds, but a costly turnover gave possession back to Narrows with 12.4 seconds remaining. Gavin Fletcher then converted both ends of a one-and-one chance at the foul line with nine seconds left as the Green Wave secured the victory.

Fletcher finished with 10 points. Bradley totaled eight points and a team-best seven rebounds, and Logan Conley added six points and five boards.

John Snider contributed six points for the Blues, while Ryan Perry and Ethan Moore each tallied three assists.

PM still receives the Pioneer's No. 1 seed for next week's Region 1C playoffs. The Blues will play host to Grayson County in the regional quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
