Middle School Basketball Tournament To Take Place at Clifton Saturday

Wednesday, Jan. 22 -- Youth basketball fans will have the opportunity to watch several games while supporting area middle schools in the 21st annual Domino’s Pizza/Alcova Mortgage Middle School Classic this Saturday at Clifton Middle School in Covington.

The tournament, moved from Maury River Middle School, will feature four boys' middle school teams: Clifton, Lylburn Downing, Maury River, and newcomer Covington.

Action will start with a semifinal game at 10 a.m. between Clifton and Covington. The second semifinal game is scheduled for 11 a.m. between LDMS and MRMS.

The consolation game is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by the championship game at 2:15 p.m. The awards presentation will follow.

Tickets are $10 each, with children age 6 and under getting in free. Proceeds go to various charities. No passes are allowed. Concessions will be available for purchase.
