Mary Whiteside Berry Holland, 88, of Lexington, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 7, 1931, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Berry Morrison Whiteside and Leona Watkins Whiteside Hoshaw.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Robert H. Berry Jr., three brothers and two sisters.

Mary was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her children, Carol B. Wade, Marlene B. Smith, Mary B. Burner and Alan G. Berry; sisters, Nina Powell, Ruby Leighton and Jane Arehart; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Benjamin W. Dowling III officiating. Burial followed at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery.
