Lyons, Lewis, Brown Win In Local Elections

Dan Lyons and Jay Lewis retained their seats on the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors in Tuesday’s elections.

Meanwhile, Catie Brown defeated Morgan McCown to become the new Kerrs Creek representative on the Rockbridge County School Board. Corey Berkstresser retained his Walkers Creek seat on the School Board.

In Buena Vista’s School Board elections, the four incumbents all won reelection. Randy Hamilton also won reelection as Buena Vista’s sheriff.

As expected, Ronnie Campbell easily won reelection to the Virginia House of Delegates.


In the Kerrs Creek Board of Supervisors race, Lyons defeated challenger Scott Guise with 56 percent of the vote, 1,175 to 905. In the Kerrs Creek School Board race, Brown won with 60 percent of the vote over McCown, 1,235 to 793.

In Walkers Creek, Lewis also garnered nearly 60 percent of the vote to turn back challenger Lex LaMotte, 1,187 to 770.

These vote totals do not include any mail-in votes received between now and Friday.
