Mary Lois Hannah Loy, known as Lois to her family and friends, entered her heavenly home on Sept. 12, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. At the age of 88, Lois passed at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation in Buena Vista.

Born on June 3, 1934, in Sardis, W.Va., Lois was the daughter of the late Alden Hannah and Pauline Flowers Hannah. She married Darrell Robinson Loy on August 9, 1952, who preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2010.

She is survived by her son Ron Phillip Loy and his wife Kimberly of Raphine; granddaughter Brandi Lynn Heiston and her husband Michael of Dayton; grandson Bryan Eugene Loy and his wife Lindsey of Buena Vista; three great-granddaughters, Violet Mae Heiston, Addie Elizabeth Loy and Teagan James Loy; brother Steve Hannah and his wife Dinah of Jane Lew, W.Va.; and sister-in-law Barbara Loy of Clarksburg, W.Va. Lois also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Hannah and Ernest Hannah; one sister, Joann Hannah Nicholson; and a beloved aunt, Virginia Flowers Richards.

After graduating from Victory High School in 1952, Lois became an employee of Maiden Form and later worked for W.T. Grant, GC Murphy, Anchor Hocking, and Walmart. She retired from the workforce in 1995.

Lois thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, creating crafts and flower arrangements, square dancing, traveling, and camping.

To honor the life and memory of Lois, a memorial service will be held at Quiet Dell United Methodist Church in Quiet Dell, W.Va., on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m.
