Linkenhoker Named BV Assistant Superintendent

Enderly Heights Elementary Principal Kelly Linkenhoker is taking on the added role of assistant superintendent for Buena Vista City Public Schools.

“The role of assistant superintendent will involve mostly curriculum and instruction of K-12,” Linkenhoker told The News-Gazette this week. She added that in the coming months, the position will concentrate on facilitating a smooth reopening for students in the fall.

Linkenhoker, who began as the Enderly Heights principal this past year, will continue to serve in that capacity at the elementary school while taking on the position within division administration.

“I finished up my first year as principal [at Enderly] with a pandemic,” she said. Linkenhoker said the statewide school closure gave the opportunity for her and school staff to learn many lessons. “The first of those lessons being flexibility,” she said.

Linkenhoker will stay on as principal until the time is right for someone else to step in, Superintendent John Keeler said Tuesday. The role of assistant superintendent hasn’t been filled since the departure of Anna Graham two years ago, who served as principal of Parry McCluer High School at the same time.

Before arriving at Enderly, Linkenhoker served as assistant principal at PMHS for a year. Prior to coming to Buena Vista division, Linkenhoker taught at the elementary level in Montgomery County for 25 years.
