Lillie Richardson Smith, 71, of Lexington died June 22

Lillie Richardson Smith, 71, passed away in Lexington on June 22, 2022. She was born on June 3, 1951, in Amherst to the late Pet and Evelyn Richardson.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Maugerita Jones (Eddie) and Geneva Jones (Horace) and survived by her sisters Joyce Twitty (Lewis) and Ella Branche (Charlie) and her brother Clinton Richardson (Ernie).

She is also survived by her ever loving and caring husband Frederick W. Smith Sr., who cared for her until her last breath. She leaves behind her four children, Frederick Smith Jr, Freda Smith, Marcus Smith and Derrick Smith, who will forever carry on her legacy; her two daughters-in-law, Tammy Smith and Amanda Smith; her seven grandchildren, Jada Smith, Caylee Cash, Amara Smith, Elijah Smith, Corbyn Smith, Haevyn Smith and Stella Smith. In addition, she leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and beloved friends.

Lillie had a passion for music, gardening, reading, and being a caregiver. Her home was always open to any of her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her children’s friends, or any child in need of a caring heart. The honor of being a part of The 700 Crew is something countless kids (now adults) will look back on and smile. She always surrounded herself with her friends and family, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
