The doors have been opened for services at Randolph Street United Methodist Church in Lexington, Asbury UMC in Brownsburg and Community UMC in Staunton for several weeks and a lot has changed because of this coronavirus. First, if you’re going to church, you’ve got to complete a weekly checklist and a temperature scan just to get into the sanctuary. Secondly, there are no Bibles, bulletins, Sunday school classes, choir, singing, restrooms or water fountain. Finally, nevertheless, there is a warm fizzy feeling about being in God’s house and fellowshipping with others even though we’re 6 feet apart.

Just a reminder, your local American Legion Post 291 will be “Zooming” its next meeting on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m. If you are interested in joining or just want information about the American Legion, please contact me and I’ll send you the link.

You can reach me Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you have information to share regarding birthdays, anniversaries, visitors, church updates or any news you would like listed, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
