Labor Day Runs To Support PM Cross Country Teams

Sunday, Aug. 18 -- The annual Buena Vista Labor Day 5-kilometer running race and funs runs are coming up on Monday, Sept. 2, and will raise funds for the Parry McCluer High School cross country teams. The races will take place prior to the downtown parade.

The first race will be a 250-meter lap around Camden Field for children age 5 and under, starting at 8 a.m. There is no registration fee. There will be a 1-kilometer fun run for children age 12 and under at Camden Field at 8 a.m. Registration is $5. Water bottles will be given as prizes for both kids’ races.

The 5K, open to all ages and scheduled for 8:30 a.m., will start and end at Camden Field, on the corner of Magnolia Avenue and 10th Street. The course, which will go on roads into downtown Buena Vista, is flat, fast and accurate. PM CC runners will be volunteering and cheering along the course. Registration is $20 per individual or $40 per family (four or more people), and each participant receives a t-shirt.

Registration for all races is in person on race day and online for the 5K until Aug. 31. To register online, go to https://runsignup.com/Race/VA/BuenaVista/BuenaVistaLaborDay5K. On race day, registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Camden Field.
