Kendal Presents Author Talk On ‘The Lee Girls’

For the past several months, Kendal at Lexington’s Culture and Entertainment Committee has featured events designed to help residents and the greater Lexington/Rockbridge community embrace the power of history, story and connection.

The next event in the year-long theme, dubbed “Celebrate YOUR Story: Exploring the History and Stories That Shape Us,” features a talk with author Mary Coulling on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. in Kendal Hall.

Coulling is the author of “The Lee Girls,” a biography of Robert E. Lee’s four daughters. The book tells the story of women in the 19th century, tracing the lives of the Lee family before, during and after the Civil War. During the talk, she will share her own story of how she became an author — something she never intended to be.

The talk is free and open to everyone in the community. A reception will follow.
