JOHN MAMON
John Joseph Mamon, 81, of Lexington died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital.
Born July 14, 1940, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was a son of the late John Frank Mamon and Valerie Josephine Sliwowski Mamon.
John was a very active and dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Burlington Industries after 37 years as a quality control manager. John enjoyed in his spare time building model airplanes, photography and bowling. He received a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.
Surviving are his wife, Connie Lilley Mamon; children, Jon Christopher Mamon (Stacey) of Bristow, and Christian Thomas Mamon (Anne) of Fredericksburg; one brother, Jim Mamon (Carol) of Frederick, Md.; and three grandchildren, Luke Mamon, Grace Mamon and Lilly Mamon.
A graveside service was conducted Friday, Jan. 7, at Green Hill Cemetery by Father Stephan Migac.
Arrangements were by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
