John Garland Firebaugh Sr. died Nov. 23

Born in Natural Bridge Station on Aug. 8, 1934, to the late Annie Lucille and Lee H. Firebaugh, John Garland Firebaugh Sr. died on Nov. 23, 2021.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Firebaugh, of 38 years. Other survivors include children, Dianna Clouse (Randy), John Firebaugh Jr. (Mollie) and Sarah Jenkins (Steve); daughter-in-law, Tobee Firebaugh; siblings, Leonard Firebaugh (Mary Alice) and Judith Perez; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, three brothers, and his beloved son, Gregory Taylor Firebaugh.

A graduate of Washington and LeeUniversity, he worked as a systems analyst for the Life of Virginia for 24 years. He loved reading his Bible, watching sports, playing golf, and keeping up with the news. Devoted to God, he held many leadership positions in the PentecostalHolinessChurch and was a longtime worshipper at Centralia Presbyterian Church.

Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 29,  at 11 a.m. at Centralia Presbyterian Church,

4625 Centralia Road, Chester, VA.
Interment will follow at SunsetMemorial Park, Chester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centralia Presbyterian Church - ESL Program.
