Joann C. Tyree, 90, of Lexington died Sept. 21

Joann C. Tyree, 90, of Lexington, gained her wings on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022.

Born on Feb. 20, 1932, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Rachel Thenny Clark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Stanley Tyree Jr., son Larry S. Tyree and sister Maxine Kirkpatrick.

Surviving are a son, David Michael Tyree (Teresa); daughter, Patricia Tyree Ruley; grandchildren, Tara (Ryan) Orebaugh, Sara (Craig) Williams, Heather Ruley, Dustin (Kacy) Ruley, Taylor Tyree, Lindsey Burks, and Scottie (Robin) Hayslette; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. William M. Thomas and the Rev. George Warden. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends one hour before the service.
